Alyssa Conley, the #ACSpeedStar, was born and bred in Johannesburg, (27 April 1991) South Africa. As a young child, growing up Alyssa was extremely passionate about sport and she believed, and dreamed that she would be an Olympian.
28 years have passed, and Alyssa has competed at a number of prestigious international sporting events including the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. Her dream was realised.
Alyssa’s passion in sports extends far beyond just competing. She is an advocate for Women in Sport. Through her dedication, perseverance and hard work, Alyssa is aiming to represent South Africa in the 2020 Toyko Olympic Games with the National 7s Rugby team. Yes, Athletics to Rugby. She likes to set herself challenges.
Alyssa is qualified in Sports Psychology Undergrad and Sports Management Honors. She is currently working on her Masters’ Degree thesis in the topic: Changing Direction, where she will focus on the transition from one sporting code to another.
Alyssa fundamental belief is “what the mouth speaks, the mind believes, and the body achieves” and her motto in life is not just to exist but to LIVE!
